Sandy's Unique Qualifications

Human Resources Leadership. Sandy has over twenty-five years of experience in human resources leadership and organizational development. Having thrived in both for-profit and non-profit environments, Sandy has built HR departments from the ground up, provided executive leadership and fulfilled the role of trusted advisor. Her leadership extended into such fields as financial services, marketing, retail, engineering, and community services.

Sandy's corporate consulting clients benefit from her in-depth knowledge of employee engagement and retention, talent development, hiring and termination, performance management, policy development and best organizational and employment practices. Her individual clients benefit from her HR expertise due to her knowledge of the recruiting process and interview strategies from both sides of the "desk," as well as her insights into what it takes to be the right candidate for the right job.

Counselor, Guide and Coach. Sandy started her career as a therapist before embarking on her career in human resources. This background enables her to help clients achieve a career transition or lead an organization by exploring their strengths in a deeper way. Sandy's clients see what they could not see before, and with that vision are able to accomplish their goals.

Sandy's professionalism is perfectly complemented by her ability to listen for her clients' desires and feelings with compassion, thoughtful understanding, and unbiased acceptance. With confidentiality at the forefront of all of her client interactions, Sandy nurtures an environment of trust, an essential element in every successful partnership.

A Personal Word from Sandy Machson, Founder of What's Next:

One of my role models was my mother-in-law who changed careers at age 65. It brought her tremendous fulfillment, joy and a feeling of value that one can only find when one decides to step fully into possibility. I will never forget how inspiring it was to see her new life take shape around her, both personally and through her work.

As I considered the decision to pursue coaching, my career background, who I am and my passion told the story. They led me to becoming certified as an Integral Coach®. I translated my experience and talents into career and leadership coaching and organizational consulting. Even though I'm summing this up in only a few words, it was a long journey that included inspiration and fear, belief and trepidation, love and imagination, support and guidance. It is why I can accompany my clients on their journeys knowing there are blind spots and dark corners, but when the clouds clear – which they do – a new way to live and work can be achieved.
